About the Health Centre
Puckapunyal Military Area is located approximately 13km west of Seymour. This was first used as a mobilisation and training area during WWI and by 1939, and was formally established in the early 1940’s. It is home to the Headquarters of the Combined Arms Training Centre, Army Knowledge Centre and Schools of Artillery & Transport. The health centre services up to 4000 Defence members and provides primary medical, aviation medical, nursing, physiotherapy, dental, pharmaceutical and mental health. There is a 12 bed low dependency ward which operates 24/7. The standard operating hours are 07:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).
This role is every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday (day shift) within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
What you’ll do
- Supporting dental procedures through chair-side assisting
- Preparing and maintaining clinical equipment and treatment areas
- Promoting oral health and supporting patient care
- Maintaining infection control and hygiene standards
- Managing patient records and supporting administrative tasks
What you bring
- Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent qualification
- 2 years chair-side experience in a dental clinical setting
- Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certification
- Strong understanding of infection control and clinical standards
- Great communication skills with a caring, team-focused approach
